隆門圓通法師之教育理念 中英文版

隆門圓通法師秉承佛陀在世間49年的教化,佛陀針對不同根器的眾生而說不同之法,應一切眾生所需而施教,令一切眾生破除無明障礙而展現出般若光輝,此一理念與孔子的「因材施教」不謀而合。
隆門圓通法師除了致力於宏揚正法、社會關懷濟施、定期補助清寒學子獎助學金之外,更發願要興學來教化大眾,包含學校學生與社區民眾。法師的教育理念為「以德報怨、以慈為引、以悲而行、以喜為合,以捨為教」,期能導引大眾走向「智、德、仁、孝」與「親善和融、淨化心靈,提升生命」之道。
學校經營秉承圓通法師揭櫫之「智、德、仁、孝」作為教育目標,具體詮釋其意義,據以持續發展學校識別系統、課程和教學等,如:
⦁ 智:以學生為中心,藉由雙語、科技和綠能等特色課程,開展語文、數學邏輯、自然觀察、肢體動覺、音樂、人際、內省等領域之多元智慧。
⦁ 德:透過學校活動和社會領域等課程的實施,以「父子、君臣、夫婦、長幼、朋友」五倫為基本架構,再加入當代的「群己、網路」等倫理觀念,引導學生樂意去認知、覺察、實踐和發展良好的「父子有親、君臣有義、夫婦有別、長幼有序、朋友有信,群己和合」等關係。
⦁ 仁:培養學生的慈悲心、從愛人擴展到愛所有的有情眾生。弘揚儒家的「人人皆可為堯舜」以及佛家的「人人皆可成佛」以及世界和平的終極目標。
4.孝:藉由學校生活教育實踐和語文等領域之教學,從念父母和師長恩著手,培養學生「孝悌」的素養,並具體實踐於日常生活中的食衣住行育樂。
Master Longmen, Yuan-Tong’s Educational Philosophy
Master Longmen,Yuan-Tong, the president of our foundation, strictly upholds the Buddha’s 49-year teachings, who expounded different teachings to different sentient beings and taught in accordance with their needs. Such philosophy coincides with Confucius’ “different teaching methods for different students.”
In addition to propagating Buddhist Dharma, Master Longmen,Yuan-Tong also devoted herself to social care, charitable work, and the offering of scholarships to students from low-income families. Moreover, she even vows to run schools to teach the public, including school students and community residents. Her main educational philosophy is “return good for evil, guide with mercy, practice with pity, cooperate with joy, and teach with equanimity.” With these in mind, she hopes to lead people toward the path of wisdom, ethics, benevolence, filial piety, kindness, harmony, purified minds, and elevation of life.
To manage the school, our foundation will set “wisdom, ethics, benevolence, and filial piety “disclosed by Master Yuan-Tong as our fundamental educational goals and will continue to develop the school’s identifying system, curriculum, and instruction. The four goals can be elaborated as follows:
⦁ Wisdom:
We will cultivate and develop the students’ multi-intelligence in language, mathematic logic, nature observation, kinesics, music, human relationships and introspect through our distinctive curriculum, such as bilingual instruction, science and green energy.
⦁ Ethics
Through the implementation of the school activities and social studies, plus the framework of the five traditional cardinal relationships (king-subject, father-son, husband-wife, between brothers, and between friends), and two more modern ones (other-self, the Internets), we will guide the students to know, to sense, to fulfill and to develop good relationships of “king-subject justice, father-son intimacy, husband-wife difference, order between brothers, credit between friends and other-self harmony.”
⦁ Benevolence
We will endeavor to cultivate the students’ compassion, which is to love people and then love all sentient beings. Also, we will spread Confucius’ concept that everyone can be the sagely king Yao or Shun and the Buddha’ concept that everyone can attain Buddhahood. Last but not least, we intend to regard world peace as our ultimate goal.
⦁ Filial Piety
We plan to cultivate the students’ filial piety via the courses of life education and language. Then we will make the students put filial piety into practice in their daily life.
