IF PEOPLE ASK FOR BUDDHA WISDOM

Master the Bodhi mind. The body born from parents should confirm the position of the great realization quickly.

Everyone is born and replete with the Six Major Elements, Four Mandalas, and Three Secrets.

A eulogy goes:
The Six Major Elements are perfect and without hindrance–essence.
The Four Mandalas are linked to each other–form.
The Three Secrets give reinforcement and the Buddha nature will manifest soon–application.
Layers of king nets make one attain Buddhahood immediately–no hindrance.

Dharmas naturally are replete with bodhisattva wisdom.
The mind dharmas and the host of the mind cross boundless realms.
Each possesses the Five Wisdoms and Boundless Wisdom.
The perfect mirror illuminates universally and the perception wisdom will be attained–attaining Buddhahood.

This eulogy indicates the endless, secret and solemn treasures, opens up the endless, secret and solemn Mandalas, and manifests the wisdom and virtue form of the Tathagata.

The Six Major Elements are perfect and without hindrance–essence:
The Six Major Elements (earth, water, fire, wind, void, consciousness) are the basic elements in everything in the universe. All humans and everything, including sentient and non-sentient beings, possess them. So we say that the Six Major Elements are everywhere in the dharma realm.

Earth is firm. People’s bones, hair and nails belong to this kind. Also, people have a strong self-adherence that is not easy to get rid of. This is also a manifestation of earth.
Water has the characteristic of moisturizing.
Fire has the characteristic of warming.
Wind has the characteristic of flowing.
Void has the characteristic of no hindrance.
Consciousness has the characteristic of differentiation.

The body is warm, so it belongs to Fire. Blood and saliva belong to Water. Our breath belongs to Wind. Our awareness that can count and measure belongs to Consciousness. The four dimensional space for us to move about belongs to Void.

These Six Major Elements involve each other, and are equal, unrestrained and without hindrance. So they extend everywhere in the dharma realm and are perfect and without hindrance.

The Four Mandalas are linked to each other—form:
The Four Mandalas include Great Mandala, Dharma Mandala, Samaya Mandala and Karma Mandala. In short, Great Mandala is our whole body. Dharma Mandala is voice, language and script. Samaya Mandala is marks. Karma Mandala is all of our behaviors and actions. Everyone has all these four mandalas.

Practitioners bring them into their life. To nourish Dharma Mandala is like our eating and sleeping that help to sustain life. We nourish our dharma body and wisdom life with Buddhas’ wondrous dharma voices and benefit living beings with kind deeds. So there’s karma business to benefit sentient beings.

Samaya Mandala has four meanings: equality, original vows, eradicating obstacles, and alert. Equality means that all sentient beings’ innate nature is the same as that of Tathagatas. When practitioners are cultivating dharma to sever obstacles, they will be able to sever obstacles and manifest their innate Buddha wisdom if they can rely on their own vows and the reinforcement of Tathagatas’ vows.

As for alert, if practitioners can accept and abide by their original vows, stay alert and realize that the self-nature is without arising and extinction, and without taint and purity, then they’ll attain Buddha wisdom immediately. The original vows are fundamental significance of the four meanings of the samaya. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas vow to cultivate on the causal ground. After they have made achievements, they still walk the bodhisattva path based on their vows.

Hence, if ordinary people can cultivate by following the Buddhas’ samaya, they still can enter the Buddha nature with the reinforcement of the Buddhas’ and Bodhisattvas’ vows.

The Three Secrets give reinforcement and the Buddha nature will manifest soon—application:

The Three Secrets refers to body, speech and thought. In sentient beings it refers to three karmas. Due to delusion and ignorance, ordinary people make boundless bad Karmas, perceive the bitter results and endless afflictions in the end. So we say that the body, speech and thought of sentient beings are the three karmas.

Buddhas are enlightened Tathagatas who can start the wondrous application of the Three Secrets to open up the three karmas of sentient beings and bring them into their self-nature so that they can confirm and realize the bodhi of their self-nature. Therefore, Buddhas use their Three Secrets to transform sentient beings ‘ three karmas and open up their innate Buddha nature quickly. In this way, the secret, solemn treasure manifests.

Layers of king nets make one attain Buddhahood immediately–no hindrance:
Just a flash of mind can make a difference between the Buddhas’ Three Secrets and the sentient beings’ three karmas.

One will become a Buddha with an enlightened thought, and will become an ordinary person with a deluded thought. If an ordinary person can realize the self-nature, start a wondrous observation wisdom, practice the Three Secrets, make a mudra, recite the mantra, remember and visualize the merit sea of the original being, then he can attain Buddhahood immediately and do the karma undertakings business to benefit himself and others as well.

So we say that The Three Secrets give reinforcement and the Buddha nature will manifest soon. One who can realize the self-nature in one thought is a Tathagata out of tangle; one who still gets deluded in one thought is an ordinary person in tangle.

So the Treatise of Highest Creed says, “One gets enlightened because he understands the mind. One gets deluded because he loses his nature. One should believe in truth and abide by his original mind.”

Vimalakīrti-Nirdeśa-Sūtra goes, “There’s neither self-nature nor other-nature. Dharma has no arising, so there’s no extinction now.”

The Diamond Sutra goes, “All the Saṃskṛta dharmas are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows as well as dew and fire-flag, so we should regard them as such.”

Stars and the moon may stay on the ground.
Mountains and rocks can fly in the sky.
The sea can be dried.
Buddha speeches are sincere and true.

Let’s share this with gratitude. Auspiciousness to all.
