051 信心成就

十方諸佛淨土無量,經論多指,導歸極樂者,略述四種:
一者:阿彌陀佛與此土人最有緣故,乃至窮村僻塢,若男若女、若長若幼、若智若愚,無不知阿彌陀佛名者。
二者:法藏比丘願力勝故,諸佛果德雖平等無二,因願力任運攝生,無差別中,因願生國土而現差別。
三者:令人繫念得專心故,若不專歎、則眾生既欲生西,又欲生東、心無一定、淨業難成、所以十方諸佛、同出廣長舌相、讚此一門、令人專憶。
四者:阿彌陀佛即法界藏身;極樂世界即蓮華藏海。故見一佛,即為見無量佛;生一土,即生無量土。 念一佛,即是念一切佛;即為一切佛所護念。以法身不二故、生佛不二故、能念所念不二故,一念相應一念佛,念念相應念念佛,因賅果徹,更無二故。 如來名世間解,亦可名究竟信也。若有眾生,欲於如來甚深境界廣大法中,能信即解、解即信,若聞法生淨信解心者,當成佛道。 今約初機言之,有信無解、能長煩惱;有解無信、能長邪見。故淨信、覺解,以入大乘道之正轍也。聽,受者聞慧也。思惟者,思慧也。修習者,修慧也。三慧資糧無漏種,能速成一切種智。

Achievements by Faith

The pure lands of the Buddhas in the Ten Directions are boundless. Most scriptures point out that those who are led to the Paradise possess one of the following four affinities.

(1) Amitabha Buddha has the closest affinity with such sentient beings, even if they reside in a remote and desolate place. They all know the name of Amitabha Buddha, whether they are men or women, old or young, wise or stupid.
(2) Due to the magnificent vows of Bhiksu Dharma Treasure, the merits of all Buddhas are equal and the same so that they can freely operate to admit sentient beings. In the realm without disparities, those who vow to be reincarnated to the realm may show differences.
(3) Those who are mindful of Buddhas are very attentive. If not, they may wish to be reincarnated to the West now, but also wish to go to the East then. If they do not have a firm mind, it will be difficult for them to accomplish the pure undertaking. So, the Buddhas in the Ten Directions manifest in the form of wide and long tongue together to praise this approach and guide sentient beings to be attentively mindful of Buddhas.
(4) Amitabha Buddha is the treasure body of the Dharma Realm, and the Paradise is the sea of the lotus flower treasure.

Therefore, when one sees a Buddha, he is seeing countless Buddhas. When one is reborn into a land, he is being reborn to countless lands. When one is mindful of one Buddha, he is being mindful of all Buddhas and will be protected by all of them.

The Dharma and the body are no different, sentient beings and Buddhas are no different, and the capability to be mindful and what one is mindful of are no different. Each flash of mind corresponds to one Buddha. It is unique that the cause is simple and the condition is clear.

The Tathagata is also called “Understanding the World” or “Utmost Faith.” If sentient beings can believe and understand the deep and wide Dharma, and give rise to a pure mind to believe and understand when hearing the Dharma, they are sure to attain Buddhahood.

If beginners believe but do not understand, they will have more afflictions. If they understand but do not believe, they will have more evil views. So, the pure belief and enlightened understanding are the right way to enter the Great Vehicle principles. What the hearer hears is wisdom. What the thinker thinks about is wisdom. And what the cultivator cultivates is also wisdom. The accumulation of the three kinds of wisdom is the flawless seed that helps to quickly attain wisdom of all kinds.
