最勝歸依佛寶也!
佛以三輪應物,
今所歸依佛正覺,
意顯非應化身、乃從法垂報之身也。

「遍知」意業最勝也!凡夫不知、外道邪知、二乘偏知、
菩薩分知、唯佛遍知。
以實智證理、理無不徹;
權智鑒知、機無不宜。
乃至法界眾生念,樂欲無不盡知。

云遍也:色無礙自在,身業最勝也。
華嚴佛有無量相、「相」 有無量好。
根根圓融周遍自在、十身歷然無壞無雜故云無礙,
救世大悲語業最勝也。

佛以音聲輪應機說法,
一音各解,故語最勝也
佛為「世間解」
世乃眾生世間所救之處。

大悲乃能救之心,如來唯用大悲為力故云:最勝業、遍知、色無礙自在、救世大悲者。佛智甚深非情可測,故祈請三寶威力加被攝受。
「歸依」又稱「歸命」,云歸命,表達歸依之心也。欲入法性,先忘我相。今以命歸則身心俱亡,以統攝六根,為能歸也。十方乃所歸也,行者所著義,乃十法界之宗,故:歸命盡十方之三寶。以心無分限,故境亦無量;意歸十方法界帝網剎中,無盡三寶也。

Why Is It the Most Magnificent to Convert to the Three Jewels?–I

To convert to the Buddha Jewel is the most magnificent. Buddhas respond to things with the Three Karmas (the body, speech, and mind). Now when one converts to Buddhas’ right perceptions, what is manifested from the mind is not the transformational body but the Dharma body.

In the karma of the mind, “to universally know” is the most magnificent. Ordinary people do not know. Non-Buddhists know evil things. The Two Vehicles know prejudiced things. Bodhisattvas know partially. Only Buddhas know universally.

If principles are confirmed by true wisdom, all principles will be penetrated.
If one’s knowledge is inspected by expedient wisdom, all levels of capabilities will be appropriate. Even the thoughts, hobbies, and desires of the sentient beings in the Dharma Realm will be completely known.

In the karma of the body, the free, unrestrained appearance is the most magnificent.
The Avatamsaka (Hua Yen) Buddhas have countless appearances that are extremely nice. All levels of capabilities are consummate, pervasive, and unrestrained, and the Ten Bodies are clear without any deficiency or assortment. So “non-hindrance” is used here.

In the karma of speech, to save the world with great compassion is the most magnificent. The Buddha lectured on Dharmas according to the hearers’ different capabilities with his voice which was understood by hearers of different capabilities. So the speech is the most magnificent. The Buddha knows everything about the world, which is the place where sentient beings are rescued.

Great compassion is the mind that can rescue sentient beings and Tathagatas only use it as a force. So universally knowing, free and unrestrained appearances, and great compassion to rescue the world are the most magnificent. The Buddha wisdom is too deep to measure, so we can ask for reinforcement and absorbency from the power of the Three Jewels.

Converting to a religion is also called abandoning one’s life for that. To abandon one’s life is to express his determination to convert. One has to forget his appearance before entering the Dharma nature. Now that he has abandoned his life, he is dead physically and mentally so that he can control his Six Consciousnesses and then is able to convert. The Ten Directions will be his destination, and what he practices is the school of the Ten Directions. So what he converts to is the Three Jewels of the Ten Directions. Because the mind is boundless, the situation is boundless too. The mind converts to the Emperor Net in the Dharma Realm of the Ten Directions that includes the boundless Three Jewels.
