Learning the Buddhist Dharma–II

在學習佛法過程中,走入佛寺總是希望藉助修學佛法,來成長智慧、增長福報。在學習的熬鍊下,在群體中研修上要下功夫。

多誦經、閱覽經義,昇華自身人格的莊嚴,培養不同的氣質。不要籠統,對佛法認真求知,努力充實自己。思想須提升,學習必須踏實。

心量要擴大,培養對事不計較得失,隨遇而安。學佛法、入佛教,除了工作培福,也別忘了求智慧能善解。

在佛門學佛,須先學習處事待人,能處難處之人、能做難做之事。「解因緣,結善緣」是很重要的。佛弟子在言行舉止行為,要落實珍惜因緣、要有因果觀念。

    行者,能長養慈悲的心胸、能長養莊嚴威儀,則是因學習佛法的教義,能讓身心安住。

    這是一種很實際的修行,學佛是慈悲與智慧,沒有智慧的慈悲是屬於濫慈悲,能悲、智雙運,才是學佛之本。

Learning the Buddhist Dharma–II

In the process of learning the Buddhist Dharma, one may endeavor to increase his wisdom and blessings via the cultivation of the Buddhist Dharma in a Buddhist temple.  One should work hard in the training and study in the group.

Recite and read more sutras to elevate your solemn character and cultivate different temperament.  Don’t be ambiguous.  Be diligent in learning the Buddhist Dharma and try hard to enrich your knowledge.  Elevate your thoughts and learn realistically.

Expand your mindset.  Don’t bother about gains and losses.  Feel at home wherever you are.  Learn the Buddhist Dharma, and enter Buddhism.  In addition to cultivating blessings through work, you can also ask for wisdom to become better at understanding others’ intentions.   

When you, as a Buddhist, are learning the Buddhist Dharma, you should first learn how to deal with matters and people, i.e., deal with people who are hard to deal with, and do things that are hard to do.  It is very important to know causes and conditions and to form good affinities.

Buddhists should cherish causes and conditions and should have the concept of karmas.  Practitioners should cultivate a compassionate mind as well as a solemn appearance.  Learning the doctrines of Buddhism can bring us a peaceful and stable mind. 

Learning the Buddhist Dharma is a realistic cultivation that is an action of compassion and wisdom.  Compassion without wisdom is useless.  It will be the fundamental of learning the Buddhist Dharma if compassion and wisdom can operate together.
