The Disease of Karmas

The Disease of Karmas
The disease of karmas is also called the disease of karmic obstacles, meaning the serious disease brought about by former karmas. When one is bed-ridden, he is very painful and can neither live nor die. Such a disease results from guilt or faults, and cannot be cured by medicine.
One who has such a disease has to repent his karmic obstacles, recite or copy sutras, make offerings to and praise Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and give alms to the sentient beings in the dharma realm. With merits gained from so doing, the karmas and diseases will be eradicated.
The Big Four may be perverse sometimes.
I have no arrangement to make for myself.
The remnant lamp leaves a shadow, which makes me unable to dream.
The night rain drips melancholy and the whole street is empty.
Where have the past joys gone?
Now, who cares about my pains?
We should learn to know all causes and conditions. When something unpredictable happens suddenly, we have to get rid of the hindrances and difficulties and remain calm. A disease brings pain, and one may feel painful all over, physically and mentally. It takes confidence to face it bravely. Learn to accept it and get used to it. Repent sincerely. We will feel peaceful if we can keep our minds calm and pure.
