Practice and Abide

Practice and Abide

All the aranyas (cultivation sites of monks) arise from the good Dharma of Bodhisattvas and are unrestrained, smooth, and flawless.

Some people are practicing and abiding quietly and enjoying the sweet dew and wondrous dharma.  Some of them are good cultivators of Buddhism, and others are virtuous, respected people.

These two kinds of people are worthy of a respect.  It will be more perfect if one possesses both.  But if one possesses only one of the two, he is still worthy of a praise.  Whether one cultivates in a quiet place or benefits sentient beings in the crowds, he is actually in the aranya.

One should purify his mind, stay away from contaminations, and sever his flaws.

He also has to form an aspiration to cultivate the Supreme Principles often.

He should avoid getting involved in the mundane affinities and should worry as little as possible.

He should perceive and illuminate continuously and cultivate diligently.

Practice and abide.  Be diligent, and all the obstacles in your life will be over.

In a misty morning, the main hall of the temple seemed quiet and peaceful.  A novice carried some fruit picked in the mountains and put it on the offering table reverently.  “Is this too simple,” he thought.  At this moment, the compassionate  Bodhisattva told him, “Whatever you put, what counts is whether you can manifest the nature–arising force in the dharma realms or not.  Making offerings takes sincerity.  Whatever is used as an offering in the dharma realms is ok.”
