請問:一個修行人所作已辦,再來應該怎麼修行呢?又所有的習氣、心病、五蓋、微習等,該斷的都斷了,面對境界受考驗的都能自在的應付了,在此時應該要再如何用功呢?
回答:一個參禪修行者,當他未悟前,「有所修」都是緣修,未能進入第七、第八意識去淨化習氣、心病,尚未轉無始劫來的煩惱障、所知障。
但一位真正開悟行者,已登菩薩初地,當然要朝二地離垢地前進。在未到二地菩薩位前,習氣、個性、見解、執著心,我、法二執心等等,都多的不得了,這時就是開始要真修實練的時候了。

Q: After a spiritual practitioner has completed the required merits, how does he practice next? Moreover, what should be severed has been severed in terms of habitual tendencies, mental disorder, the five afflictions, and tiny habits, and one can handle ordeals easily when facing situations, then what should he work on now?
A: Before a Zen practitioner gets enlightened, what he cultivates belongs to the affinity cultivation and he is still unable to enter the seventh or eighth consciousness to cleanse his habitual tendencies and mental disorder. The obstacles of affliction and ignorance formed since the non-beginning era have not changed yet.
But a really enlightened practitioner who has entered the Bodhisattva’s initial position surely has to move towards the secondary position (the parting from dirt position). But before this, he still has numerous habitual tendencies, personalities, views, adherences, and clinging to the self and the Dharma. So, during this period, he has to realistically practice.
